COVID-19

Any cancellations due to legitimate bereavement or illness especially due to Covid-19 can be made up to the day before the event. In these exceptional circumstances, refunds will be issued minus a 10% admin/ingredient fee at the discretion of Dessert First.

Dessert First would like to reassure clients that food is prepared in a covid-safe environment and use of masks along with contactless collections/deliveries arranged where required.

Afternoon Teas

Dessert choices must be the same for all adults within an order. Savouries can vary to suit various dietary requirements however overlap is appreciated to minimise waste.

Please be aware, although we can cater for Gluten, Vegan and Nut free, nuts, dairy and gluten are used regularly in the Dessert First Kitchen. We do make every effort to avoid cross contamination however orders for people with said dietary requirements are advised to do so at their own risk.

Deliveries – where every effort is made to reach every delivery address on time Dessert First cannot be held responsible for lateness due to traffic or driver’s negligence.

Missing/damaged items must be reported within 1 hour of receiving your order in order for us to rectify or offer a solution.

We cannot cater for coeliac or severe nut allergies as wheat and nuts are regularly used and traces may be present.

Classes

Please be aware cooking/baking classes/parties are undertaken at the client’s own risk. Dessert first cannot accept responsibility for injury on site due to personal negligence.

Allergy information must be given prior to the class so that our chefs can make arrangements to accommodate and so we can decide if that class is suitable for you.

Children’s classes/parties occur in a nut free zone however nuts are used in the kitchen during business hours and while every effort is made to ensure surfaces and equipment is clean, Dessert First cannot take responsibility for nut allergies occurring during classes. If your child’s allergy is severe and requires use of an EpiPen then the classes may not be suitable. Please contact us for more information.

Dessert First has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and rudeness to staff and has the right to refuse admittance to any persons that do not abide by this.

Image consent will be requested before every class. Dessert First will use images for social media, the website and further advertising. Please ensure you have filled this form out with your preferences before the class.

Due to time restrictions please be prompt; refunds will not be issued if you are late and have missed part of the class.

Dessert First Event Catering

All quantities and flavours to be pre-arranged between client & Dessert First. No refunds will be given for simply changed minds within 2 weeks prior to event.

All set up theme and décor must be arranged at least 4 weeks before the event. Any changes will be difficult to accommodate after this time and we cannot guarantee we will be able to meet your needs.

Dessert First will contact clients 2 weeks before their event to check if there are any changes in quantity, flavours, delivery or set up. No changes can be made after this time.

Please be sure to specify dietary requirements well in advance.

Dessert first cannot accept responsibility for allergic reactions occurring due to client negligence. Whilst every care is taken to ensure allergens are not included in your order, Dessert First cannot guarantee a FULLY allergen free zone.

All set up materials must be returned up to 3 working days after an event. In the event of any missing items, breakage or damage to items, the client will be expected to pay £20 per item within 3 working days.

Cancellation Policies:

In the event Dessert First needs to cancel a class/catering/afternoon tea/ cake order due to low numbers/unforeseen circumstance you will be informed up to 24 hours before and refunded or offered credit to carry forward to book on a later date.

Class Cancellations

All classes/parties must be cancelled at least 72 hours in advance to receive a full refund.

Any persons cancelling after this time will not receive a refund unless specific evidence is seen after which an ingredient & admin fee applies. Contact us for further information.

Afternoon Tea cancellations –

These must be in writing 3 working days in advance of the date ordered for. Any cancellations after this time will incur an admin & fresh ingredient fee of 20% of the full cost.

Any orders over £200 require a 50% Deposit. Refunds can only be given at Dessert First discretion depending on the nature of the cancellation reason and if given 3 working days’ notice at a minimum.

Dessert First Event catering

Orders over £200 will require 50% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit 14 working days prior to the event.

Cancellations of catering orders must be made 7 working days before the event to receive a refund.

If the order is cancelled after this time Dessert First cannot offer a refund without appropriate evidence pertaining to the reason for cancellation.

Cake & Treatbox Cancellations

These must be done 4 working days in advance to receive a refund. Any cancellations after this time will incur a 20% admin fee to cover the costs of any décor & toppers ordered in advance.

Dessert First has a responsibility towards each client to provide FRESH, responsibly sourced and well packaged and prepared food under the local authority’s strict hygiene regulations.
